Weird sensations

Just been out to do a bit of shopping called for a drink, had camomile tea and the most funny sesation in my face atop of my nose weird, across forehead, and my eyes are itching something awful, glad to get home.

Margaret - You will drink camomile tea!!

cant drink jd's the time. lol only kidding

Does camomile tea make a good mixer then?

My answer would be a cup of strong black coffee - but I'm being controversial!

I ride into the city center, using my bus pass, wander around the mall and end up at the top tier watching the world go by with my cup of coffee.  It's my way of (cheaply!!) getting out, incorporating some exercise, and of course have a nice drink.  Don't usually buy anything else and then take the bus back.

no - Eileen i have lost the site address for the reduction i apologies, but can you let me have it again please so i can follow it.

Eileen im sorry but is it the one that saysreduce daily dose to 1mg a month i am so confussed this morning i cannot find what is says, oh im sorry i just feel like crying

No - it won't be one that says reduce TO 1mg/month! It might be BY 1mg/month. I have given you a link to another thread on this site. In the first post there there is a link to this paper:

"Our approach to the diagnosis and treatment of polymyalgia and giant cell arteritis by Quick and Kirwan" but you could also find it by googling that title.

In this paper they keep patients at 15mg for 6 weeks and then 12.5mg for 6 weeks and then you stay at 10mg for a year. If you have decided to use that one you shouldn't need to worry about what you are doing for 6 weeks at a time.

Margaret - you really must stop obsessing about the reduction and getting panicked at everything. Until you do that you won't understand what we are suggesting to you. At the moment you are picking up on comments made by and to everybody - and getting yourself confused.

Everybody is different, everybody is at a different stage of reduction and everybody has different needs. If we are having a discussion about reducing with someone who is at 8mgs and struggling with getting to 7.5mg it is very different from someone switching from 15 to 12.5. Above 10mg there are different problems to those below 10mg.

It might be an idea to talk to your doctor about the anxiety - are you always so nervous and agitated or did it just start when you were put on the pred?

Get a calendar or diary and write your dose down - maybe even get the practice nurse to help you if she will.  Then sit back and concentrate on YOU and YOUR reduction problems. Carol and others have made several suggestions for you to relax - and concentrating on that will help you a lot I think.

Could well be a reaction to something. i get very similar sensations when i drink beer (not getting drunk i should add, one sip and bang!)

Must make for a cheap night out - even I can drink more beer than that

thank you i have taken it all in i think i know what you mean,my hubby seems to think its because i am on pred that i get so worked up, so i will tell the doctor, as today while i was out i had really bad palpatations, and if i am on this a long time i need to be in contril i know.

a bottle of jd once again might be the answer laugh out loud, but its camomile tea for me.

It could well be the pred - but she should also be able to give you something to help that - since just stopping the pred isn't really an option either! It will get better as the dose goes down and as you get used to it, it often takes some weeks for that to happen.
