Yes, I developed the cs-induced myopathy. But a different form of pred sorted that - methyl prednisolone did it, prednisone doesn't. Almost a straight swap except for the side effects.
it's crap, isn't it?
no one warned me.
I blame everything on pred, even the weather. I thought I had done well on side effects I reckon I have had fourteen, you seem to be beating me! Of course I don't know about the ones I can't see.
As a fellow sufferer from GCA I can endorse your symptoms. I had and continue to have the red blotches you mention. My Gp was unsurprised and said that's the steroids. Apart from their ugliness they don't give me any problems and come and go. I also get frequent watering of the eyes which is a particular nuisance as the GCA has left me totally blind in one eye and with very restricted sight in the other.
well that totally sucks. I'm so sorry about the blindness and the reduced sight. The watery eyes must just make everything even harder to deal with.
Misery loves company and I'm thrilled to have more friends in the red spot club. I hope you're happy to have me join your watery eye club . At least I know now it's the prednisone. Man, I totally need to get off this drug.
I'd love to hear from anyone who wouldn't like to get off pred. Some of us have been on it for years - hope your journey won't be too long.
Keep smiling through it all.😊😊😊
I have found one big advantage of the red spots is that when I go swimming I am given lots of space to myself as people think I have a ghastly disease. Every cloud has a silver lining.
