What a fuss!

Seems the GPs are on the same wavelength everywhere. I'm in New Zealand, 68 years old, and had my last Estriodol implant about three and a half years ago whilst living in Australia..its taken eighteen months of nagging/ cajoling etc. before my GP would consider putting me on HRT again.

only after taking the husband with me at the last appointment, with him backing me up on the severity of the hot flushes and night sweats did she give in. I have been on an eostragon only 1 mg now for 2 weeks. No noticble difference as yet!

I am looking into travelling about 400kms to another city to see if I can have the implants done, as nobody in our city does them!

such a drama just to maintain a reasonable quality of life.

I'm fit, still look sort of good! Not ready to sit and knit booties.

Us older ladies are not like our mothers and Grandmothers, my mother was old at 60, I still ride a motorbike, cycle our beautiful tracks here in NZ and do fun stuff!!

Fight on ladies, we are so worth it.

Hya Jenny. can't you get Estriol (not Estradiol) cream (Ovestin is the most popular)? And natural progesterone caps. (names Prometrium, Utrogestan, etc)? These ones anyone should be able to prescribe because they're considered really "safe" .

If you're determined and can't get prescriptions you have, I believe (it's all over the world) a brand named biovea that has Estriol and  Progesterone creams and you can order them. The transdermal route is the safest anyway so... it may do the trick for you.

Keep up the good spirit and enjoy! x T.

PS- Jenny if you're on estradiol (is it estradiol?) already then forget about the estriol cream. I only use 0.5mg  estradiol gel/day (rub on arms & thighs) and it's perfectly enough. The natural progesterone caps. also help with any flushes.

Hi Teresa

have tried creams, patches etc. years ago, not much success. Will persevere with trying to have the hormone Inplant done, it's so easy!

once every six months.  Not to fussed on the travelling to another city but if this is the only option will grin and bear it.  Meanwhile I'm on the 1 mg pill so that may help.
