What a week!

And in a good way cheesygrin

Im 20 weeks and a day out from TKR, and Ive had a good week! It started with a meeting with my Surgeon, who has confirmed my 2nd knee is shot and Im getting it done later this year, maybe October.

I went out on my own for the first time on Wednesday, I dont drive and I live in a village so had to use the bus - succesfully!

Those of you who have been around listening to me waffling for a while may remember my daughter needing kidney surgery - well theyve messed her about for 16 weeks now so I told her to get in touch with PALS - lo and behold she has her surgery next Thursday! Scary stuff, as there is a chance they may not be able to save the kidney, but at least she got her date.

Im rubbish as keeping in touch with people, but Ive spoken to one of my best friends this week who Ive not seen for a year - Im meeting her next week biggrin

And finally, tonight, I have the house to myself and I HAD A BATH!!!! Had all kinds of props ready in case I struggled to get out, and my daughter lives just round the corner, but I managed on my own!

I feel as though Im getting my independance back, yay!! So guess who's going to be making the most of the next 3 months till my next op!

High fives to all who've had a good week, and gentle healing hugs to those who are struggling xx

That's great keep it up

What a lovely newsy letter.  I have had a good day today, im11 weeks Tkr and today I visited my daughters plot in Perth scotland and fed their deer by hand. Rode on a quad bike as a passenger and strimmed some of their grass.  Ok I'm stiff and tired but feel I've achieved something new,  by the way my husband doesn't  know yet he was out helping a young group of air cadets . I'll tell him tomorrow. (Maybe)   Sometime you just have to do what you want to do,   Take care. Jackie

Brilliant Terri, that's a great week of achievements. Fingers crossed for your daughter x

Great times ahead as well

Glad to hear that your daughter has a date for surgery!  the waiting is terrible, especially when it is such an important operation for her.  At least you have all the Summer to enjoy beefore you start all over again.  My other knee seems to be fine. . just problems now with both ankles, so back to going down stairs one at a time, and crutches for the first half hour of every day   I know the alternative to not getting old is not much good . . . . so shouldn't really complain!
