What are some food and drinks that help reduce your anxiety?

I've heard there are foods and drinks that can help reduce anxiety. And there also foods and drinks that can increase anxiety. Is there anything you drink or eat that you think helps reduce your anxiety?

Anything with  caffeine will increase anxiety.  I find herbal tea with a little honey relaxes me.  My favorite is Sleepy Time....no caffeine.

Coffee and tea can act as  Stimulant, so I suppose it may effect your mood. Your GP can advise

I guess your best guess might be to google it or look on pinterest & then try to see what works, since everyone is different. Generally, I think eating healthy & balanced, getting enough vitamines & minerals - limiting refined & processed food, alcohol, caffein, sugar etc couldn't hurt but everyone is different & I think even enjoying food & drinks that are supposed to be bad in moderation can't hurt. For me, for example, there is nothing as relaxing as a nice warm morning coffee - just sitting down, taking a deep breath & enjoying it helps me calm down tbh (but for people who are more sensitive to caffein that might not be helpful)  - even though caffein is supposed to be bad. Just observe what makes it better or worse for you & try to eat healthy, would be my best guess. I can surely tell eating healthy helps & in phases when I ate more junk food I would feel more like crap as well...well, I guess you are what you eat. ;D I would imagine food rich in magnesium, calcium, zinc etc couldn't be bad as well, or dark chocolate is said to be good against stress for example. Just do some research - there a tons of sources out there & I hope you can find things that specifically help you feel better.

I have cut out caffeine completely from my diet. Ive switched to decaf tea and chamomile tea is great for anxiety. Alcohol will also make you feel worse. Try fresh foods, plenty of fresh fruit and veg and switch to brown bread, rice and pasta instead of white. Try and stay away from sugary foods and processed food also. Another stimulant of anxiety is sweetener or anything with sweetener in it like diet drinks etc. Hope this helps x
