What are these marks on my penis/testicles

Hi,

About 12-13 weeks ago I was cleared of scabies. For the past 6 or so weeks, I've started to have many new spots appear on my scrotum and also on my hands (mainly the palms) (especially in the past 2-3 weeks).

These spots on my hands will disappear if I put hydrocortisone on them for 1-2 weeks. On the penis less so - they persist for quite a while (maybe like 6 weeks?). Then new ones will pop up in different places to the old.

I know that my scabies hasn't come back. I do have some minor residual itching, but its nothing like it was. And I dont think the spots would just disspear if I still had scabies. Worth noting that I dont have any spots in between the webs of my fingers like I did when I had scabies.

What could these be? I went to the doctors 2 weeks ago, he got 3 people to look at me and they were all as confused as the next one.

They got me tested for Syphillus, HIV, Gonnorhea and Chlaymdia and tested negative for all. I even paid privately to do a herpes test and that came back negative too.

Could this continue to be a post-scabies reaction 3-4 months after being cured? I'm pretty confident that I don't have scabies (as was the doctor)!. Could this be something totally unrelated? Something going on internally in my body? Heaven forbid, some form of cancer?! Gluten allergy?

It's worth noting that the spots are painless on my penis. The scabs on my testicles are painless but can be quite satisfying when I scratch them. On my hand/palms they are like fluid filled craters that get biggish and then leave yellow dried skin after (similar to Pompholyx)

Very confused by it as google is telling me it's either Syphillus (tested negative), Herpes (tested negative) or Scabies (I really doubt that it's back). The doctor said post-scabies shouldn't really be lasting this long.

The doctor tried freezing them with nitrogen to see if they react like molluscum contagium (not sure on spelling) and it didnt react to the nitrogen as if it was that...

I've just tried applying permethrin to one of the spots on my penis to see if that helps. Will be interesting to see.

I will go back to the doctor in a few weeks, but asking on here out of convenience. File size is too bigFile size is too bigimageimageimageimage

the one on your finger looks like a wart

it look like molluscum on the penis but if u have been tested for that that im scratching my head a bit at wat it could be u need to be going bck to your doctor so he can figure out wats going on

i would re test for scabies to defo rule that out once and for all

i have heard of people having scabies still after treatment but 4, months after seems like a long time

they look like herpes laisons to me.

what about the ones on his hands tho 😕

herpes dosnt hang around for 6 weeks either 😕 there usually gone within 7/14 days

Hi,

I haven't been tested for molluscum per se, he just applied some nitrogen to it to see how they reacted. It wasn't a blood test or anything like that.

Regarding herpes - I tested negative for it, and have blisters on my hand, so can't imagine that it's that.

I think it's either post-scabies reaction that has become infected, or molloscum since the latter hasn't been tested categorically using a blood test like all the other options: HIV, syphillus, chlaymdia, gonnorhea and Herpes type 1 and 2.

Yeh definitely longer than 14 days and also blisters on my hands

scabies is common on the hands tho isnt it but i thought was more common between the fingers 😕 molluscum can spread to other parts of the body aswel i really dont know wat to say it looks like one of those two to b honest with you 😩

syphilis can cause a rash on the hands and soles of the feet but it dosnt look like the same spots u have

Hi,

To help other people out that might stumble across this in the future, I think I've found the answer.

I asked an online specialist online (had to pay).

It is called "Nodular Scabies", which is present in about 7% of paitents following successful treatment of scabies. It is a long term skin reaction to the dead mites that can be present for many months, if not years after successful treatment. It is especially present in the penis/groin area as the skin packs fat cells under the skin there (or something to that degree).

Google it, the symptoms are very similar :)

It can be treated by Tacrolimus :)

what are you lot doing here lol

thanks for the update i thought scabies related but wasnt sure how long it persisted for after treatment which is wat made me think of other things glad u got a definate answer

i am having a similar situation but it still itches alot. i treated myself for scabies a month ago at first itching seemed to have gone away but then new bumps started coming. and those small pimple like things but my problem is that I'm in china and it's very difficult because we have a communication problem as the doc is chinese

i have this exact same problem and im stuck in cambodia would you be able to provide the name of the medication that was prescribed to you by your doctor? image i have had mine for roughly a month and its itchy to a point where it feels good to scratch it, that is why mine looks like this. but when i first got it it looked exactly the same as your photo, just 2 - 3 lumps that appear similar to a mosquito or bug bite. And i even have the small lumps on my fingers. This is the only post ive found with the problems that i have, and i really need the name of the medicine that you used or are using to treat it. Ive not had any luck so far with doctors giving me antibiotics and other tablets that are simply not helping. youre litrally my last hope.

I'm having the same problem and I'm really angry cz it's still there and I've tried every thing but it's not working. i had 10 injections in last two days
