What could these spots be on the back of my neck?

Hi everyone,

I’m a male, just turned 21 a few days ago. Today I took a photo of the back of my neck to check for anything abnormal (I’ve always had pretty crazy health anxiety, I don’t now why). I noticed this rash thing that’s stuck around for several weeks, as well as the moles near the bottom of the back of my neck. I think I may have had them a few months ago as well, but I haven’t looked at them closely and wrote them off as normal moles (since it’s difficult to see and they are small).

Here is the first spot very close up, which is on the right in the photo above:

Could this just be a spider bite? How concerned should I be? Should I be losing sleep?

Again, how concerned should I be about these?

I also have that weird (rash?) thing near my hair line in the middle. Could this be anything to worry about?

I don’t currently have a GP because I run a business and my childhood GP cut me off since I’m not going to college. So, I haven’t had a doctor since I was 18.

Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated.

All looks perfectly ok to me. The “rash” as you call it is a nevus and you have probably had it since you were born. On babies they are often called “stork marks” to tie in with the traditional story of storks bringing babies but obviously they are nothing to do with storks in any way. They are very common and fade to the pale brownish patch you can see. They can become more red if you get very hot or even if you get very angry but they are totally harmless. By the time most people reach adulthood they are covered up with hair so you dont notice them.
The moles look ok but if they start itching, crusting or bleeding that is the time to seek help.
Are you in UK? I dont understand your comment about not having a GP.

Thanks for the reply. That’s reassuring. I never knew about nevuses, that’s interesting. I never knew I had it, I never usually look back there. No, I’m in the U.S., is this mainly a UK forum?

I’ll keep an eye on the moles then. I need to learn to not be paranoid about things like this haha. I just figured since they seem to have irregular borders that they might be something to be concerned about.
