i have an umbilical hernia, probably due to the port used during my gallbladder op. it is quite large. the skin around the edges & inside my belly button is very red & quite sore. i don't have a date for surgery yet. should I see a doctor re the soreness?

You may have developed a fungal infection in the Bbutton. See your doctor so he can confirm whether or not you do have a fungal infection and if so can be treated with an anti-fungal cream. In the meantime keep your BB clean and thoroughly dry as fungi bacteria love dry damp places to thrive…
