Hi, please can someone give me some advice, I'm in a lot of pain now and don't know what to do.

I have been taking an increased dose of venlafaxine for the past 2 weeks, went from 75mg to 150mg.

Every other day since starting this higher dose i am getting severe migraines. I have never suffered with migraines before in my life until now.

I have had a migraine now for the past 2 days, paracetamol isn't touching it, and i cant take any other pain killer because of the venlafaxine and propranolol i take.

Any advice please? I just don't know what to do, I've never had a headache like this before, it feels like something is trying to get out of my brain and skull!!!

Sure u can't take Imigran

Ask your doctor but I'm sure you can take a Triptan

Hi Tobamory, I'm not 100% about what pain meds i can take, there's just so many warnings on the leaflets of the venlafaxine and propranolol that to be honest I've not dared take anything but paracetamol, there's just so many other medications that can react with the current ones, and seeing as this is the first time I've taken any meds of these sorts, i didn't want to risk it. Also I've never suffered with migraines before so am unaware of what's best to take for them.

I am phoning the doctor next week at some point so I will ask then.

Danielle speak to your doctor and ask, according to what I know neurologists do prescribe sumatriptan and

Venkataxine I've also been on propranolol myself as beta blocker, and has immigran sumatriptan always.

Paracetamol is no use for me doesn't Everton touch it. Let me know what doctor says you look like your on preventatives, you need to ask for something for an attack..
