I have this evening been to a GUM clinic where they found pus cells after looking under a microscope after taking a swab. i have struggled for this past year with various lower urinary symptoms and have in the past completed all stds tests and a cytoscopy which indicated nothing. This evening however showed up pus cells. I am so confused as to why this wouldnt have been picked up earlier. What would these pus cells indicate? thanks
an infection
any idea why these wouldnt have been picked up earlier?
They prescribed me a week of doxycycline. Would this be a long enough course as i have had the symptoms for a long time with intermittent testicular pain?
I have previously been given ofloxacin for the testicular pain but had to stop it due to painful tendons.
Thanks for you help again Kim
as a infection progress the more symptoms appear so in the first instance there may have been no bacteria present in the urethra on previous tests and only just appearing now some bacteria can also go up the urethra and effect the bladder and kindeys thus causing a uti it all depends on what infection it is i guess some stds can cause pus to leak out of the urethra such a chlamydia or gono
