what does the numbers mean?

I found out i do have herpes and the number for HSV 2 was 5.49 what does that mean? i seen <0.91 before on results but never 5.49

That’s just your antibody count. all it means is your immune system is aware of the virus and these antibodies will do their best to help u fight off the virus. what made you get tested, did u have symptoms. when was the last time that you tested when it was <90. when u see that it just means no antibody detected.

i seen the <.9 was in 2017 havent gotten tested since this week (5.49 is what i seen). I got tested due to a cut?ulcer? idk what it was but “out break” im guessing. SO the lower it gets the better or it wont ever get lower?

that’s your antibodies count and all it shows is your immune system is ready to keep it in check. the numbers fluctuate so it won’t really matter.

is there a chance that i have the antibodies for a different virus or is that just specifically for HSV?

It means your body has built a lot of antibodies to fight off the virus.

It doesnt mean too much other than youve got the virus.

It tests specifically for the antibodies against HSV2.

thank u

is it higher the number the longer you had it?
