Hi, went to A&E last Monday after blacking out with heart racing. I am currently being checked for AF. Today I received a letter from A&E saying that there findings were Acute Coronary Syndrome which sounds scary, the letter also said that the ECG showed ST depression in leads II, V3, V4. Not sure what all this means. Acute sounds bad to me or is that just a generic term. Thanks
Acute means sudden and chronic means long term.
Did they refer you to a cardiologist?
Hi, no they just referred me back to GP. I am under a cardiologist being tested for AF so hopefully he will see the notes. When you google it shows some shocking results in the fact that you are likely to die fairly shortly. Perhaps I shouldn't google !
What is AF? If it was an emergency than I don't think they would send you away. Try to get into your gp soon
I am not familiar with the condition or anything, but as hard as it can be, I implore you to not google. Believe me when I say that it only makes things much much worse.

Hi, is it Atrial Fibrillation when your heart flutters and racing for no reason and quite common, so was happy with that diagnosis. Have a GP appointment this afternoon. Thanks
Hi, I know you are right, I was looking at the NHS ones, which I hope would be right, but as you say stupid thing to be doing. The letter was just a shock as I was told everything was ok.

Hi, no I am not depressed, I have recently found out I have haemochromatosis, iron overload which causes chest pain and heart problems, nothing to do with AF as I originally thought
