What does this mean ?

so my results came back for HSV 2 and it was a 3.58 which is very low my doctor said. The lab had ordered another test to confirm that the IGG antibodies were in my system since it was so low and it came back negative unable to confirm IGG antibodies. I’ve had no symptoms, no bumps, no rash, no itching, and most of all nobody has got the virus that I slept with. He said that’s odd and he believes that lab could’ve made a mistake but anything over a 1.09 is positive so how weren’t they able to confirm the antibodies?

u dont need to have symptoms in order to have herpes u can have it and it lay dormant in the body for years unless previous partners have all been tested for herpes they may not even know they have it as sometimes there are no syptoms until years down the line

also if u are testing becaue u have recently slept with someone then antibodies take a while to build up in the blood as long as 16 weeks for herpes

so what does that 3.58 number mean and that it was a low positive? He sais himself it was kind of weird

ever since you possibly contracted herpes, it would take a while for your body to produce enough detectable antibodies. you most likely have it and tested too early

another test may need to be done if u have got a low positive result

it said that the antibodies were detected but unable to confirm , so is that the same thing?

3.5 is considered a positive result …u got 3.58

it recommended testing again , the doctor said it’s unusual that I didn’t have a first outbreak yet

wait another month or so
