What happens when you run out of Prednisone for several days?

I ran out of my 16mg of prednisone prescript today. Though I emailed/called my drs, they didn't renew the pills this past week. Now I have a long weekend to go without prednisone. What is that like? Is it really dangerous? Should I go to Urgent Care? I already called the pharmacy and they refuse to give me a few pills.

It is dangerous as you have been over 5 mg for a while. Go to your hospital emergency department, take your empty pill bottle. Your pharmacy should have issued you with an emergency supply to get you through the weekend.

Thanks, my regular dr, not the rheumatologist, came through and ordered a few days worth for me. Thank you for responding.

Hi Debbie - as you can see, this forum is almost dead. Most of us are at the HealthUnlocked PMRGCAuk forum - and there you would have had more than one response and within minutes. Now we only get notifications of a direct reply to us here - not even that there is a new thread! So unless we actively come to the forum several times a day, you could easily get missed, as you did really.
