What Have I Done!

I am about 5 months past THR.  A few days ago, I bent down and fell.  I found that I cold not bend.  When I got up, I felt a little pain, but not enough to feel that I dislocated my hip.  However, I feel the muscles in my inner and outer thigh.  I know I can’t bend down.  I will appreciate any exercises that any one from this group can offer me, so I can strengthen my thighs.  Thank you, in advance!

That must have been very scary for you!  Did you go through PT? Maybe you should check with your surgeon why after 5 months you still can’t bend. In regards to exercises...You can check YouTube...just research exercises after THR.. there are 2 Drs who demonstrate great exercises. 

You need to be able to bend already! Good luck. 🍀 

I feel it is important to check with you doctor before doing any exercises.

     You should contact your surgeon, at least for me, I live in Edmonton, Canada, the restrictions go in most of the cases until the 6th month; it's better to be sure.

I agree, if this had happened before you're thr you wouldn't have come on a website to ask advice you would have gone straight to your GP or a&e, don't self diagnose, you need an xray to rule out dislocation or fracture, I'm sure it will be fine but if the same thing had happened to a loved one would you tell them to wait and see

Hydrotherapy saved my life after my THR......walking in the water helped me build up my muscles in my thighs and butt........ so hope you feel better soon Steven....
