Hello people. I just thought that i would post a happy story for a change, and tell you guys how I managed to get over my anxiety.
Im 18 years old, a student, and although I had anxiety for a brief period of time compared to many of others, I felt anxiety at its worst. It was awful, the constant fear of death, the jumping up from sleep into long painful fits of panic, the stroke like sensations that some people get that can last weeks at a time, you get the idea.
I had bad anxiety for only 2 months, but i had mild anxiety for a few years prior to this time. Like I said, not long compared to others. However I searched and searched for ways to maybe help me get through it. What i say next only worked for me, im not recommending anyone try the same, its just what i did and it turned out to be an effective means of eliminating my issues.
After a lot, and i mean a lot, of research I found that many psychological and physical conditions occur due to a lack of some nutrients. What made me think of this first was when i watched a documentary explaining how vital it is to be properly nourished and how important it is to regularily exercise.
Before i was over weight, lazy, smoked, drank a LOT. Now i.. well im still a little over weight haha, but no long lazy, stopped smoking and only drink once a week. I know that this isnt the option for some people, they are addicted to somethings and have certain needs, but i was lucky enough to not be in this situation.
Anyway, the treatment. I started to take vitamin C 1000mg supplements, along with a few super foods. Although 1000mg of vitamin c may sound a lot, it really is not. Some people with certain types of cancer have 100,000mg of vitamin C to help aid their recovery. Goji berries are rich in nutrients, and they taste great. Also spirulina supplements are full of proteans. Along side these superfoods and vitaminc C supplements, i also took some multivits, just to keeep the levels of everything at a reasonable level. Along with this, i began to work out. Nothing major, no gym memberships or that. Just 100 press-ups and sit-ups a day. The chemicals that your body emits when you exercise are needed to sustain a healthy mind and body. I also adopted a vegetarian diet, im not sure if this had an impact on my mental status, but if I started all this at the same time my anxiety died down then that is a heck of a coincidence. I should probably mention that I stopped taking all meds that i was on at the time also, which was Citalopram 20mg and propranolol. I am now only on amitriptyline10mg, but this is for migraines.
Within just days, although those were a rough few days, i felt much better. My anxiety had pretty much gone. Now, 4 weeks on I feel just like i did before, just when i thought that i would never feel normal again. Of course, it will never totally leave. there are days when i feel some numbness.
Like i said, im not telling anyone to stop what they are doing and follow this, your doctor may not not be very happy. But it has worked for me.
What im getting at is that if there is anyway you can improve you physical health, then do it. The only thing stopping you is in fact you. It is worth it i can assure you.
