I have Chronic Sinusitis for years and had a recent ct scan which said my nasal septum is deviated to the right and i have moderate mucopolypoid disease of the left maxillary sinuses....can anyone explain any of that please
Hi carol that sounds nasty ive no idea what it is have they said what could be done?
Hi Pauline...im hoping its not as bad as it sounds...lol...due to go see an ENT specialist 5th feb but just trying to get some info before then as to what it means..ive no idea what treatment would be involved and just hoping no surgery needed
Well dont google it things always sound worse when you look them up on internet.dont think id be wanting surgery either do let me know how you get on hope all goes well
You have access to the Internet, Carol - why wouldn't you search for mucopolypoid disease and see what you find. As Pauline says, it can look worse - but then you can find out so much more than posting a question here and hoping some random mucupolpoid expert happens to see it!
Webmd is a good site and I'm sure there will be many others. The only thing I will say is, if they recommend you take antibiotics NEVER let them prescribe Ciprofloxacin, Levofloxacin or one of the others that end in -floxacin. These are called the Quinolones and they can have very serious damaging affects on your muscles, joint, gut, everywhere. There are always alternatives. Never take them and pass this message on.
Good Luck!
