What is the best Anxiety Medication for vestiBulan weakness?

Looking to start an anxiety medication due to my vestibular weakness on my right side. Its been much better since a month ago but some days I feel more off than others and my anxiety level rises. I want to start an anxiety medication that will make me feel like it's okay that I'm off or dizzy....

I meant to title this discussion Vestibular not Vestibulan

Hi Stacy

My anxiety and dizziness decreased a lot when i started on antidepressants. I am on Ciprolex and it has been a god send!

Great I'll look into that

Could you clarify what you mean by a vestibular weakness on your right side? What diagnosis did you receive, and from which medical specialty?

Eleftherios S. Papathanasiou, PhD, FEAN

Clinical Neurophysiologist

Fellow of the European Academy of Neurology

He called it a left sided caloric reduction implying that there has been some loss of vestibular function on that side. He is a Professor of Otolaryngology, Staff Neurotologist.

Yes,have to agree with Debbie, ant d's do help.

Other than medication are you doing anything else for the vestibular weakness?

Right now I'm not taking any medication. I'm doing Vestibular physical therapy and acupuncture and hollestic psychotherapy. I also started taking a bunch of Vitamins that I heard help brain and dizziness, i.e., magnesium, ginkgo, vitamin d, ginger and B12..

I was having a bunch of good days since starting this but today was a bad day...I've been very spacey today. Hard to do anything today but I'm pushing through.

I'm sorry to hear that about today, but I thi k it is awesome that at least you have a diagnosis and are working on it, I am going to be starting acupuncture soon and wondered if it would really help--- I have nothing to lose so I'm going to go for it

Well the ENT THINK it started as Vestibular Neuronitis due to my symptoms but I don't know..I don't think they know much about the inner ear workings and its all a guessing and wait and see game.

I only went to one session of acupuncture, it really helped with my anxiety so I can't wait to go back Friday. I think anything that calms you down during thsee types of Vestibular issues can't ever hurt. Any recommendations you have for me please feel free to share

Well I am on the (they're not sure) boat, but I have some ENT tests coming up on June 3rd so I'd anything g comes up I will let you know and I asked my ENT about chiropracter and he said it wouldn't hurt but I've read so much about them and people are cured of dizziness so again I will let you know :-)

An article I read said to ask your PT or Neurologist about trigger points in the upper back and neck so that's what I'm going to do :-)

Awesome Michelle..let me know about the chiropractor. I'm going to PT tomorrow so I'll ask about the trigger points... how long have you been dealing with this?

I will let you know, and please let me know what your PT says about trigger points I'd truly appreciate it .10 years on and off---

I'm sorry I meant 9 years on and off

I use trigger points for my neck pains, soreness etc. There's lots, ofmi fo if you google trigger point therapy. You can do a lot,of it yourself.

Omg !!! 9years! Mine only started a month ago...I cannot imagine 9years!!! :*(

Mine's comng up 7 years!

What!!!!! Ugh! I can't even handle a Month of this....I don't know how you guys do it!!!! There has to be an answer and some relief. That is just crazy!
