Can someone tell me what this is as its painful.. I do walk a lot and stay on my feet… Family said it just needs scraping away with a foot file but this just looks really bad? Hurts a lot after I take shoes off at the end of the day. Thank you every so much in advance.
see a podiatrist a foot specialist. it also sounds like you make be coping with something else . shoe arches is usually a big help and can fix many foot problems. new shoes with soft insoles and new custom made arches is a excellent treatment for painful feet. also i highly recommend rocker shoes that teaches how to improve a better gate while walking and better all around balance for the whole body. freeze a water bottle and roll under arches. sometimes a spur on the heel bone can be very painful. ice feet to control swelling and xrays can rule out many issues. once a diagnosis then better treatment can improve your foot pain. it seems to me the callous you refer to is forming from ill fitted shoes due to possibly hidden heel and arch problems.
