If it’s a recurrence of herpes, it would typically re-appear in the same area of skin as the last outbreak. So is this current problem similar in appearance and location to what you experienced two years ago? If this is the case, then it is probably herpes and you should start taking aciclovir asap. Ideally, you should have the area swabbed for herpes, but I understand this could be difficult in the current circumstances.
