Hi All.
I get this rash on my hands. Palms and 1 finger in particular. Extremely itchy, heat or hot water makes it worse. Had it for a few years on and off now but seems to be getting worse.
Ive just bought some Canesten to try to help.
Any advice would be brilliant. Thank you in advance.

Have you been to your GP?
The Canesten might help but you might find that Canesten HC would be better. That is only Canesten with Hydrocortisone in it, so try buying some Hydrocortisone and putting them on together.
You could also ask the Pharmacist's advice.
The generic name for Canesten , is Clotrimazole - it's cheaper!
An alternative anti fungal, is Daktarin generic name Miconozale
But I think you should ask the Pharmacist first, then your GP and if you still don't get an answer, ask for a Dermatology referral.
Hi .... I have had this condition off and on for several decades. It was originally diagnosed as pompholyx eczema and you will find extensive description plus causes and treatment options on this website (Patient UK). However my condition I think is caused by some forms of emotional stress and once it starts it has to run the course of itchy blisters which fill with liquid then burst and form scabs until new skin grows back underneath which can take a while during which time I had to keep clean ( white gloves) and apply creams and ointments. In my experience the only thing which stopped the blisters from developing and stopped them itching was to take any propriety brand of anti histamines for several days immediately I noticed them, I personally found this to be the only thing which actually stopped the problem in its tracks immediately and reduced the need for follow on treatment. Occasionally I still get this condition and can still get relief with anti histamines. Such as Benedryl, citirizine etc etc which are all available over the counter. This is my experience but before trying anything discuss with your GP since your problem may be different and have different causes .regards
I find DermNetNZ particularly helpfull. I was told that I had Pompholyx but in fact, it turned out to be something different.
Perhaps start at Pompholyx and see what your GP says and ask for a referral to a Dermatologist.
