I have had this lump area for about 3 weeks now. It was sore to begin with but the pain was manageable. The size went down and now it has risen again.
I thought it was a boil but its not like my usual boil that i get. It is back again larger and its sort of like a sack of skin which is red/purple in colour.
please help and advice is appreciated.
This looks very much like Hidradenitis, which needs to be seen by your doctor or a dermatologist. Swabs and /or biopsies are usually taken.
Its not an STI and often starts in a blocked and then infected hair follicle, but it can spread so you need to get this treated ASAP.

do you know the treatments they offer if it happens to be Hidradenitis ?
