What is this on my thigh? Small hard circular lump

I’ve had it for a very long time its painless unless i try to squeeze it then it hurts. I really want to squeeze it hard and hope the lump goes but wont do that as worried about it becoming infected or contagious.

Does it need medical attention? should i get it removed before anything happens to it?

Doesn’t look serious and the pain suggests possible infection. I would recommend monitoring and if it is bothering you look to have it surgically removed. There are even mole/wart remover creams that may achieve a decent result.
