The other day I looked down at my foot and though I had a bug bite but when I touched the red area, it felt like numerous tiny bumps. Upon later evaluation, I realized it must be a rash of some sort, maybe hives? I hadn't been exposed to anything out of the ordinary, I immediately removed my shoes and cleaned it but it did not improve and is now, three days later, the same size and very itchy and it has appeared to a lesser extent on my other foot. I had shaved my legs, which extends to the top my feet, the day prior so maybe that has to do with it? I'm going to try and get an appointment with a dermatologist but I know that might not happen quickly so I figured I would post this in hopes someone might recognize the rash. I'm just not sure if I should be applying benedril cream or antifungal cream or even something else. The rash is a little scaly but not fluid filled. It almost resembles a burn and makes the skin feel very taught and dry but also very itchy. Scratching it doesn't really relieve anything it just makes it hurt more. It's on the top of my foot almost extending a little onto my ankle it is not near my toes. I'll try to post a picture in the comments but I don't know if it will work.
It sounds very much like scabies. I caught it a few years ago and it started in exactly the same way - tiny bumps on the inside arch of my foot which soon spread and itched like crazy. You will need to get something from the pharmacy, wash all your bedding and repeat the application in 24 hours, as well as treating anyone else you live with.
