started as vaginal itching - vulvar skin looks rough / red/ irritated. GP (over the phone due to COVID ) prescribed fluconazole and flagyl to cure possible fungal or bacteria infection – no change.
had thick sticky discharge - thought possible yeast infection so did a canestan tab. HOLY MOLY - intense cramping / spotting of blood / intense rectal pain and pressure.
48 hours later i had my first “attack” -(this was mid cycle for me / when i would most likely be ovulating) - what i can only describe as simply the most intense vaginal and rectal itch. it came on suddenly and nearly dropped me to the ground. i had minor rectal bleeding.
I then developed frequent urination and a burning sensation in my urethra (no pain when peeing) went for a pelvic exam / blood test / urine test — everything came back normal . My rectum looks like it has multiple hemmorhoids and fissures – its a purple/ red swollen mess.
I then started developing itching on my arms legs and buttocks with a minor rash – – all while having vaginal itching and a rash . i was told it was most likely a reaction to laundry soap. I switched to hypoallergenic detergent with no change in my symptoms. - even tried benadryl.
The following month - mid cycle I had another “attack” intense itching and a LOT of discharge that was watery/foamy – it was pouring out of both my vagina and rectum.. My lymph nodes were swollen, glute pain and weakness and numbness in my legs. Two days later (while still itchy) I went to wipe discharge and saw blood on the KLEENEX. there was a cut under my clitoris. I examined later only to see two more cuts in the same area.
i freaked out after googling HSV so i go back to my doctor – she still insists i look fine and its most likely lichen sclerosis . She runs another round of STI TESTS (this time a full panel for HSV/ HPV / SYPHILLIS/ HEPATITIS) urine test/ pelvic exam swabs – my symptoms didnt resolve, I was able to see some of my lab results online which showed my WBC & NEUTROPHIL count had doubled in the last month. I Was absolutely convinced i had HSV – went to the doctor and was absolutely stunned to see a full negative panel again.
She does a full exam on me yet again to let me know I have lower back swelling and bruising. A Combo of the pelvic exam and her pushing on my back then really caused me back pain.
The itching / burning / stinging remains. i still have hemmorhoid / tears. NO RELIEF-- symptoms are daily
I have had no relief. I have started getting frequent loose bowel movements, more lymph pain, back and glute pain / weakness - tingling and numbess in my R hand.I then developed itching inside my nose with what felt like a cold sore. I went back to my doctor who argued with me that im totally fine i dont have HSV 1/2 as my blood work was negative and she simply told me to take a probiotic, cut gluten and dairy and get on with my life.
I then started developing fissures / tears in my anus when I wipe . My anus feels like what I can only describe as soaking a cut in lemon juice.
The HSV blood test was negative 6 months AFTER onset of symptoms, and I havent been sexually active for more than a year.
I dont have sores / what resembles pictures of herpes – but I have the flu like symptoms/ swollen glands.
Has anybody encountered anything similar ? what is this and how do i get relief ?!?
