What is this sore on my vulva? (pic included)

Hi!

I think I’ve always had that little bump in my vulva but it’s never hurted. I think (?) it’s a fordyce spot but the past few days it’s been a little bit painful when rubbing it. I thought it could’ve been irritated during my period because of the humidity and friction.

I’ve taken a picture and I’ve also noticed it feels a bit bigger than usual, and it has a few red spots. You can see it if you zoom enough. I only noticed it hurted a bit while I’ve been showering and washing the area these past few days.

It doesn’t burn, itch or anything. I don’t feel it until I directly rub it. I’ve had the same sexual partner over the past 9 years and I’ve been quite worried that this bump/sore might be something serious.

Looks like a Fordyce gland that may have become blocked and is a bit infected. Just keep it clean and it will probably drain on its own. All women get these from time to time but if you get a lot then do see your doctor…sometimes they need antibiotics to clear the underlying infection. Not serious, dont worry.

Update:

I’m sorry, I forgot to update this post! 4-5 days after making this post, that little lump disappeared and stopped being sore. Marina was probably right when she said it was a blocked gland and would heal on its own :slight_smile:
