^ I have had this growth just above my knee for about 6 months now but always thought it was a wart, just thought you could see what it is as I'm abroad so I cannot see a doctor until I get back.
It looks like a keloid, usually harmless, but the doctor can remove it if itchy. Definitely see the doctor though to rule other things out.

It almost looks like it's filled with blood under it with that bright pinkness on top. Don't pop it or anything like that to cause an infection. But I would see a dermatologist when back from your trip. There are so many skin disorders out there and when the dermatologist sees it, I'm sure he will know what it is and remove it.
