What is wrong with me?! This is driving me crazy

Hey my names jasmin I’m 22 yrs old and for the past two months something has been wrong with my stomach. Two months ago when I first got sick the symptoms that I felt were those of food poisoning( chills, extreme nausea and diarrhea) so I drank lots of tea and water and followed the brats diet. The weekend  passed and my symptoms got worse and I started feeling a burning sensation in my chest and stomach accompanied with stomach pains on top of the symptoms I already had(nausea and diarrhea). I ended up going to the ER because the burning in my chest and stomach were intensifying and I was getting worried. When I went the the hospital they told me that it could be GERD so they prescribed me with stomach acid medications and nausea pills because the nausea was so bad was keeping me from eating. Those medications didn’t work and I still felt the same symptoms so after my prescription was done i stopped taking any medication apart from the occasional tums. So two months later my symptoms are getting a lot better but because of all this mess I have been following an extremely strict diet of healthy homemade foods such as baked chicken and boiled potatoes. And If I eat anything that’s the slightest unhealthy the symptoms of abdominal discomfort and nausea return. I’m not doing very well in the money department and I don’t have enough for health insurance so I have not visited a doctor. Please someone help! Tell me what’s wrong with my body.

Jasmin you could be having what is considered PI-IBS. It normally starts with food poisoning and can damage the cells of intestinal lining. Keep on following a strict diet plan and try your best not to stress about it.

Hi jes53452

Get yourself tested for HPylori a stomach bacteria that presents with all the symptoms you mention..The HPylori bacteria lives in the gut and duodenum and causes burning and acid reflux.....best wishes....

It could be Post infectious IBS since the symptoms continued after food poisoning.  Try and get your insurance sorted out so you can see a doctor
