What level of support can I expect from my Rhuematology team?

I have been diagnosed with Pallindromic Rhuematoid Arthritis. I had to abandon 2 attempts at treatment as I could not tolerate either. I am not on medication at the moment as I was to start Biologics, but I had to have further investigation. I am in limbo at the moment and have had to depend on steroid injections. I have 3 this year, can anyone tell me how many a person can have in a given period.

Hi Pauline,

I also have palindromic RA I couldn't tolerate any of the meds, and didn't qualify by 3 points for the benarali. my RA nurse gives me a steroid injection about every 3 months so that's 4 a year I don't think you are allowed anymore, but I was given 5mg oral dose daily.

Hope that helps.

L.

Thankyou Linda.  I feel a little disillusioned at the moment, this condition is relatively new to me, a year since I first seen a Dr, and as I am not on any medication for it at the moment, I have struggled with the pain. If I ring my nurse practitioner, she is unable to help and has instructed me to get in touch with my GP.

When I did this I ended up worse off, given Naproxen and not being able to tolerate it.

Hi Pauline,

I was told recently about something called CBD oil that you can get from Holland & Barrett that is good for pain relief, as it is herbal it is usually tolerated well,

Hi about biologicals, I've been on Benepali for about 5 months with no side effects and working great, I don't think you can have many steroid injections, only 3 maybe a year, I was on methotrexate only for one week ended up in A and E, hope you get sorted for biologicals.
