What's causing this?

For months I've had issues with carbs and sugar, my body seems to crave it but when I eat certain carbs or too much I get a drunk feeling or being to feel tired, heart rate increases, my mood drops and I get dizzy and lightheaded when I stand up. It's usually when I eat wheat or sugary foods but I crave sugar a lot. I'm only 21 and I should be at my healthiest stage in life. So what could be causing this and how can I fix it?

Hi, I'd be tempted to go see your GP to discuss further may be refer to a dietitian to see what's going on.

Are you diabetic ?

Hi

Have you eveer been tested for food intolerances for example gluten, wheat, soy, corn, amaanth, dairy products , teast , aspartame?

Yu can get tests done under the NHS or privately.

If you research the Gluten Syndrome and Gluten Ataxia that may answer some of your questions. If glutn intolerant it attcks the thyroid giving ise to rhyroid auto immune disease. his is called Hashimoos disease. Best to know and to exclude this than to worry when something could be done. Tere are masses of thyroid forums online too. some are on this website under hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism. Good luck.

If gluten intolerant then gluten is treated by the thyroid gland as a foreign body and starts producing antibodies and causing  signs and symptoms that are better explained on specialist forums for thyroid diseases.

Thyroid disease is an auto immune disease and one of them is called Hashimotos and the other is Graves disease.

I feel it is best to advise people of the possibilities than to worry when something could be done. There are masses of thyroid forums online too. Some  are on this website under hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism. Good luck.

No. I also had a blood test a few months ago which came back normal. But I believed it to be diabetes or an insulin issue

What about thyroid problems ? I would go back to docs and get check if you dont have any vitamin deficiency xx

Oh that's great! I didn't know NHS provide food intolerance tests. But I did suspect it to be gluten, since wheat makes me bloated also. Thank you for being so helpful x

No problem. Sorry about all the typos!!

There are drs who specialise in Gluten intolerance, gluten artaxia and the gluten syndrome.

Large hospitals have Immunology de[artments where u can be tested.

I went privately toa nutritionist for food intolerance testing at a cost of £95.
