4th outbreak in 6 months.. doubling up on valtrex meds 500mg.. so far only one giant bump but very uncomfortable. I read something about using dermoplast but which can, red or blue? Its type2 so hard to walk and sit. What other things can I do for relief?
If it's painful, topical lidocaine should numb it somewhat, which might also help with the itching. For just itching, I like to use diluted tea tree oil.
P.S. Actually, 500 mg is the standard dose for valacyclovir.
I used a&D ointment when I had my first breakout haven't had one since .. But I understand your pain , it is SO painful to sit. But if you keep your vagina lubricated down there it won't hurt as bad.. When it's dry .. Every little move and twitch can be painful.
When you first had your outbreak how soon was it after you got your second one ?
Yes, so its ok to double up? Its been 2 days and it hasnt spread but the one blister is still there. Still painful.
I had the 2nd outbreak the next month after my period. I researched that my cycle doesnt trigger it but it seems to happen every month after my period. Im thinking I need to talk to doctor about being on a suppressive therapy

I'm not sure about the dermoplast, sorry. For valacylovir, you can look up the dosing schedule on the CDC website. They have treatment guidelines for episodic and suppressive therapy. Yes, it's okay to take 1000 mg daily, but it may not help too much more, if you're recurrence is already underway. Needs to be taken at the first sign for best results.

But I haven't managed to have any issues yet . No breakouts no itching . My pigment of my skin has came back you can't tell I've had any sores or anything .. I don't know what it is .
I don't wanna go on suppressive medicine because I want to see how it is after I get a second breakout
