What specialist?

At this point I have no idea what doctor I need to be seeing? I can't decide if I have anxiety causing physical symptoms or physical symptoms causing anxiety. My symptoms change and evolve often. As of now I have having rocking and swaying dizziness, not really room spinning. I get occasional chest pain (could be anxiety?) and my eyes double vision often. I used to get a lot of tightness in my throat but that seems to have kind of relaxed. I have not passed out yet but I feel as if I am for over 5 months now. I have good days and then bad days. I saw an ENT and he really didn't think anything is wrong but he didn't really look into my inner ears so is that still a possibility? He said no hearing loss and a cardiologist told me maybe pulmonary embolism but I haven't gotten the test yet. I have an eye doctor appointment and another cardio appt. What else should I be doing?? What can I take now to help?

A good ENT would be a place to start or a Neurotologist, that's with a T, they specialize in the ear. You could have Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, or BPPV, but it could be an issue with neck muscles or your cervical spine. Don't let it get you upset, the odds are good what ever is causing it will not be life threatening.

If it is a neck or a spine problem the best to see a good chiropractor. I would advice to do so.

Take care of yourself.

You need to join vestibular Neuritis illness and dizziness group on Facebook! This is a good question that has been asked many times..anxiety is highly involved with VN...someone posted a really good article about it in that group.

hi isabelle , have a look at  Torsade de Pointe ,on patient uk . yes i know daft name but it is health prob heart . good luck

The symptoms cause anxiety, unfortunately. I had the same problems you are going through. The medication that helped me the most is meclizine, or over the counter Dramamine. It seemed to help immensely with dizziness and gabapentin also. I was hospitalized for close to a month when this hit  like a ‘ton of bricks’ and was told I had vestibular neuritis. This was last year just around this time. I haven’t been the same but intensive physical therapy with a vestibular therapist has helped me cope with it. You have good days and bad days. Don’t give up hope that’s most important. If I could get through it you can too! Best of luck
