What to do?

Hi, I'd like to ask those who are also stuck with their options. I'm 3 years post-op, monofocal IOL, massive Positive Dysphotopsia, significant PCO since mid 2020, no YAG done (deliberately). I really don't know what to do. I live in Europe, visited domestic opthalmologists as well as travelled abroad (veeery expensive for me). I spent a lot of money for that without any real outcome. I always hear: do a YAG and that's it, I won't exchange your lens, etc. I'm really puzzled. I know I need YAG asap, but I just can't do this as I still wanna keep my chances for an exchange. But it's a vicious circle, because I haven't found anyone who could touch it. Maybe I should consider the US? I know we've been talking about it here for many times, but could you recommend somone exceptional? Or I should rather accept that perhaps there's no extraordinary surgeon in this World? Interestingly, I sometimes ask myself - what I would do with that if I had a million $. And you know what? I feel I'd be as hopeless and weak as I'm right now.

Even though you have not had Yag; time after surgery and shrinkage of the Capsule Bag might be an issue. IOL extraction is not a no risk surgery. I talked with Claudia a while back and she had gotten hers extracted but it was very soon after the surgery and I know the doctor she used if you want to call her. She is in Jacksonville, FL.

I also have seen Shannon Wong who does youtube videos talk about so you might give him a call. He is located in TX.

Hi ad12345

You can probably write to some US doctors or fix telephonic/video consultation with them. During my research for cataract, I found 2-3 doctors who put out some good information on their website and YouTube channel. Go to YouTube and search for Dr Uday Devgan, Floater Doctor and Dr Shannon Wong.

I don’t know how much a long distance consultation or writing to them will be effective but you might try.

All the best.
