please help ? I was told i had diverticulitis a couple of years ago, it was found with a scan as they originally thought it was appendicitis. i was given no information apart from to eat a high fibre diet and given antibiotics. I am guilty of being complacent and not watching what i have been eating and thinking it was a one off (stupid i know)! But since then i have had 2 more flares which antibiotics cleared up very quickly. This time however they are taking longer to work and i am on my 3rd lot of antibiotics. I am worried that Ive done some real damage to myself this time and have certainly learnt my lesson! What do i eat or not eat or do or not do during a flare? I've got awful diarrhoea this time, especially after eating but i have never been told what to eat during a flare! my Dr said to eat what i can?? Ive been increasing fibre is that wrong? Im so scared that ive done some serious damage as its worse this time . please help? thank you x
I’m following for the same advice. I tired the liquid diet for two days and slowing adding soft foods, but the diarrhoea after every meal is discouraging.
I never eat fibre when in a flare , it makes me feel worse .
I stick to very bland food .
