I have taken out all dairy, all sugars, all fats, all gluten. Its such a palaver. I am now literally trying rice krispies and home made broths with a little chicken. White fish with plain mash etc. Trying baby food like pureed aple which is meant to help.
I am rewarded with still diarrhoea once a day and nausea which i try to live round.
Hoping time will deal with this, its a nightmare, worst decision i ever made to get it out.
will let you know how i get on
Hi Ann, I still have my gallbladder... and i'm in such pain... and frustration of what to even try to eat... I've read so many different things on what to eat and what not to eat! I had some plain chicken last night left my stomach burning....no dairy... applesauce just about killed me... so I'm not sure of anything! Thank you and praying you feel better soon !
Hi, I can pretty much only eat baked chicken breast, white rice and veg. I can tolorate kingsmill 50/50 bread for sone reason. I found some Mattesons turkey that you bung under the grill that's ok as it tastes a bit like bacon but alot drier. I tried some cornflakes lastnight with skimmed milk and won't be doing that again!
Are you waiting for surgery Rosemary?
Hi, Yes I am waiting for surgery however in the meantime eating is becoming a full time job! My stomach is on fire and pain in my upper right chest area and across the chest is a burning pain! I've never felt so sick in my life! What type of veg ? Thank you.... do you still have your gallbladder?
Just recently my problematic gall bladder - if that is what it is? - has been getting worse. I was diagnosed with bile salt mal absorption a few weeks ago and was having problems with diarrhoea up to 15 times a day. At the time I did not realise it could be linked to the gall bladder. I have been getting pain on the right hand side of my abdomen which has progressed to my lower back. I also have movement on the right hand side of my abdomen after eating which is very uncomfortable and can hurt quite a lot on occasions. My specialist nurse, who looks after me and my sacral nerve implant thinks it is probably gall stones and the movements I feel are the stones moving in my bile ducts. I used to say I had an alien in my stomach and I called him George but it is getting a lot worse and over the last few days I have been feeling very nauseous and have had to leave work as it made me quite ill. I am having scans on Thursday so I am hoping I will know more. As I sit here typing George is running riot through my stomach and it doesn't seem to matter what I eat. I'm dreading Christmas and all of the food around as I don't think I will be able to manage it.
why was it your worst decision to have your gall ballder out ?
My gall bladder is full and shrunk had them for 20 years with no problems until now, when my doctor tells me my common bile duct is 11mm instead of 4mm so got to get it checked at hospital might want to remove mine
I have been so much worse since removal. I only had a few stones and thought my nausea and diarrhoea would go away once the surgeon said we will take it out. No such luck. I can hardly eat anything i want to so bland diet, even then still nausea and diarrhoea.
i know it is probably post cholecystectomy syndrome but its hard to live around it.
Thanks for the reply i never knew you could get that after surgery, not 100% sure i am having mine out yet just want to find out if this bile duct i have that's meant to be 3mm and it's 11mm can burst and what's causeing it to be so big.
I'm the same as Ann. I had my gallbladder removed 6 weeks ago
and I'm really struggling to eat . I want to eat but I can't tolerate any food.
Just had a cracker for lunch and I'm hoping it doesn't give me pain and diarhea !
The medical profession don't tell you about this before removal.
The doctor should of told you all this it's wrong.I ask loads of questions and never take anything or have anything done until i have done research, this is the main reason i never had mine removed 20 years ago because all these things are in our bodies for a reason ? same with my tonsils suffered all my life ona nd off with them but never got them out either.
Just remember these letters D.T.A
Hi, Yes i still have my gallbladder and i'm waiting for my GP to refer me to a surgeon but i'm in the UK so don't know how long that will take as it's a long drawn out system here.
Just carrots and garden peas.
