Whats wrong with me?

I don't know whats going on with me, but i dont feel good most of the time. I wak up feeling tired, hot, and my body just hurts and i feel stingy and hot pains all over my body but mostly in my arms and chest area. Then when i eat it hurts to swallow and then after i have either heartburn, nausea, or something else. I don't know why but I just never feel good. I get enough sleep, i am excersising a lot more, i drink mostly water and milk now. I am 15 years old (female) and i am now currently homeschooled. I hate being homeschooled but i really can't go to public school (long story) . So yah..

Hi Ashley, Sorry you don't feel well. Since you are 15 years old, it is possible some of your symptoms are hormone related due to changing, shifting, and balancing that sometimes happens around your age. Have you seen a doctor? Do you notice any swollen lymph nodes anywhere or sore throat? If you do not, then I would not be concerned about mononucleosis or chronic fatigue or anything like that, and would lean toward hormonal changes as a possibility for your symptoms. Exercise and growing could be contributing to your arm and chest pains. Are you stressed? I see you do not like being home schooled...that could be part of it. Sometimes being stressed can make it more difficult to swallow because muscles are tightened up due to stress. Regarding nausea and heartburn, be sure you are not constipated which generally causes a back up in your system. See if you can change some of the foods you eat and resolve the heartburn and nausea. You can google foods that are soothing to the stomach and foods that help with elimination, and see if you can help yourself with this. I find that using calcium and magnesium help with the stomach symptoms. Magnesium helps your muscles relax and alsohelps with elimination . You can take some during the day if you are tense and then take both calcium and magnesium at bedtime. This will help your body relax and may help with your stomach symptoms as well. Since you say you are exercising a lot, you may simply need more calcium and magnesium to feel better. This simple addition may help with all your symptoms. You can use something like tums if it helps with your heartburn, but I prefer you would use a natural product like ginger or ginger aid only when needed.  If you do not start feeling better, you may need to try stop drinking milk for a while to see if you are not digesting it properly. Some people have lactose intolerance and can not drink milk, especially after they are grown up. So you could experiment with substituting non-sweetened almond milk (which you can actually make) or non-sweetened juice in place of milk to see if you feel better. I hope you feel better. Hang in there with home schooling. Time passes faster than you think and before long it will all change. Find time to yourself doing things that make you feel happy. Good luck.

Hi Ashley, A few more thoughts...be sure you are eating a healthy diet. And you may really benefit from drinking some tea...cold tea or hot tea. There are wonderful teas available. Ginger tea will help settle your stomach. Depending on the climate where you live, cold, slightly weak regular tea (I like Lipton's) with lemon or lime, and mint leafs if you have them, can be very refreshing...just don't drink it too late in the day because of the caffeine. At night, Sleeptime tea can really help you relax before sleeping. You can buy Sleepytime tea in most grocery stores. It gas mint and chamomile which are soothing for your stomach. Chamomile tea is good for your stomach. If you want something tangy, Raspberry Zinger tea, hot or cold, is good! I think you will like exploring the world of tea. It is actually very medicinal. Take quiet time each day to look at something beautiful, or be with a pet. It will make you feel better. You said you exercise a lot. You may want to find exercises that make you feel better. For instance, running may exhaust you, while yoga, walking, or dancing may energize you. Only you can figure out which activities energize you rather than deplete you. Feel better !!!

Hi Ashley, have you had your vitamin D level checked?

How would you do that? Bloodwork or somethig? And no.

Thanks for replying! I have been to the doctor many times. WHen I was 12 i had frerquent heartburn so i took zantac as a perscription medicine, and it helped alot. I had that for about a year and then eventually stopped taking it. Then when eighth grade came i was okay but about in the mddle of the schooyear i woke up one mrning with a different kind of pain. My chest hurt, i didn't feel good, hurt to swallow, etc. So I went back to the doctor and they asked if I had any new symptoms and i said no (but i actually did) s0 they gave me the zantac again but it didn't help. SO then eventually it got worse, I could barely eat anything i guess i lost weight (it seems like it) during that time. So i went back to the doctors and they thought it had something to do with my heart. SO i went to the ER and they checkee my heart, it was fine. Then they said I should see a GI specialist. SO then I had a barium swallow (to see if it was my throat) then I had an upper endoscopy and a biopsy, and i had chest x-rays, a manometry, and a ph monitoring. They said everything looked normal. Then the Gi specialist said it must be something psycological. So maybe a couple weeks later I moved to Florida (so now I would be in 9th grade). IN FLorida I seemed like I felt better, I drank more water, ate a lot more, had more fun).I was going to go to a christian school in Florida but then my sister was goig to do homeschooling because they didn;t have the classes she needed and that was her last year of high school anyway. So i kept begging my mom to homeschool me an she finally did. Then eventually after six months, i moved back and thought I wouldn't feel good again. I didn't feel too bad but I still was a little unsure how i would feel going back. AFter a couple weeks we settled in and i was feeling good and had a fun summer, kept distracted by my family that came over to visit. Then i went to driver's ed and i thought i was going to die(panick attack). I realzed after 6 days of drivers ed something was wrong so my mom took meto the ER. I felt like I couldn't breathe i was in pain and i just felt like crap. SO the doctor did a chest-x ray and that was about it. the doctor said it could be a blood clot (but before he could check that i wanted to leave cuz i eventually felt better). So then i went to public school after that and made everything a lot worse. SO i could barely eat in the cafeteria coud barely focus on my schoolwork berely made any friends, it was terrible. So then eventually my mom decided to homeschool me agian.  NOw i'm homeschooled (i really  don't like people knowing because it is kinda embarressing) so that makes me upset obviously. SO now i just can't focus on anything besides this (i continue to excersie, and eat healthy, drink lots of water). So then after going to a pediatrition for the last 15 years i finally went to an adult doctors office and got some blood work done to rule out anything. sO they came back normal (good i guess). I DON"T KNOW WHY I STILL FEEL THIS WAY!! UGH

Yes a very simple blood test. You will get a result which should be around 70 or so. My pharmacist did some tests recently for free, half the people tested had low vitamin D!

I just recently had a blood test, i dont know about my vitamin D or anything.

There are lots of different blood tests, so you may not have had your vitamin D tested, I always ask for a copy of the results which can be useful.

Hi Ashley, A few more thoughts here... If you are able to exercise without becoming short of breath, I don't think the problem is your heart. Have you ever heard of doing a digestive tract cleanse? You can purchase gentle herbs that will help clean out your intestinal tract. There is one I used years ago called the Taoe He Cleanse. You can find them pre-packaged at health food stores and on the internet, or you can actually simply purchase a few good herbs or combinations to use. Since you are new to this, it would be easier to purchase an already blended product. Cleanses are usually fourteen days, then take a break, and then fourteen more days. When you body cleanse, you may feel worse because when toxins are releasing and clearing it can make you feel a bit more tired and maybe a bit sick (not always), but it is worth it to regain your energy when it is all done. If you do this, continue to drink lots of water as you cleanse. Do you drink soda or energy drinks? They can cause stomach problems...even if you only drink one a day. I don't think you are having a psychological problem. Our bodies tell us when something is out of balance. And ask us to help ourselves to come back to health and balance. It is best to pay attention as you are doing and continue to try supplements, vitamins, healing tea, adjust our diet, etc. until we come back to balance, or health. In Ayurveda it is a life long process of recognizing what has gone out of balance and finding very natural and easy ways of restoring balance. That is really how the body was intended to be treated...bringing it back to balance. The pain and trouble breathing...you should not ignore. I very seriously doubt you have this, but there is something called myasthenia gravis which causes muscle weakness and shortness of breath. So you are right to seek treatment or go to the ER if you can not breath. Also, you could have a bit of asthma or allergy and just need a little breathing support like an inhaler now and them. Always see what has happened before you feel bad...was there something you ate, something in your environment, were you around someone who makes you feel bad...see if you can find a trigger for the problems you have. If you can find what triggers the problems, it will be a lot easier to find a solution. Have to go for now. Will check back and hope you feel better!!!

Hi Ashley, I sent a resonse that went to moderation. Probably because I used to many dot dot dot's. Hope it wil come through to you soon. Feel better!

Hi Ashley,

These symptoms are not usual for your age. Do you remember when they started (what probably caused it), how old where you? And what were the first symptom? Is there anyone in your family who has similar symptoms or any other health conditions? Have you noticed what brings on the stingy and hot pains that you are describing, is it only in the morning, and are these only at home or also when you are outside or excersizing?

t is good that you have been following a healthylifestyle. It is possible that you just need to recover the balance of micronutrients in your body, meanwhile avoiding stressful environments for a period of time, so that your body can recover. I am asking the above questions to understand if there is anything else that might be causing your symptoms. Feel better!
