when can i resume activities

i had both ovaries tubes and a 10cm cyst removed a month ago,  wondered when i can walk dog and swim again as i have not had a ffollow up appt through yet.

My dog pulls but he keeps looking at me and cant understand why i dont take him! missing my weekly swim too -  i have been quite well since,  apart from my fibro that has given more trouble than this op.

Hi Jude, I had the same op 5 weeks ago and have noticed a big difference in what I’m able to do over the last week. I’m going back to work in 1 week and I’m back to normal activities although I’m still being careful not to lift too heavy weights. I reckon you could definitely be taking your dog out from now on, walking is the best exercise to start with.  Hope you continue to do well, Aileen

I don't know if this will help but i had my left ovary and tube taken out about 3 months ago and i was back to normal in about a month as far as my daily activities u should call and find out why u haven't had a follow up yet cause it has been a month u should have i hope u fell better and u should be able to walk the dog but take it easy and don't over do it u will know if u are

Hi again, meant to say in my earlier reply that my gynaecologist said that I wouldn’t have a follow up appointment as the surgery had all gone well.

Thanks you have been most helpful

Hi Jude,

I hope you’re feeling ok! I had a laparotomy 6 weeks ago, with one ovary and tube removed and a 22CM cyst. I was told not to engage my muscles in my abdomen for 3 months, because of the risk of hernia. Also not to swim or have a bath for the same period at risk of infection. But I’d say walking and running is fine!

Hope this helps!

Take care,

Janine

Did u have an open surgery? Or laparascopy with one of the holes being big?

No

i had a laparoscopy three incisions, walked dog for the first time last night, four weeks post op and feeling fine.

im not having a bath or swimming yet tho as this will pull on abdomen,

Do u  or did you have any burning pain or stabbing near incision like feeling like muscles underneath were in process of healing. I had laparascopic and the one hole they pulled my 11.7 cm mass out was the bigger and i am assuming muscles had to have been cut and nerves. I keep feeling a stabbing burning pain near there when i bend or reach or cough and sneeze.

i only have had odd twinges, usually when i do too much, they are getting better and fewer now x

I had an open surgery 3 weeks ago. I was told I could go into the pool as soon as my incision is completely healed which is usually at about 4 weeks. And still not rigorous activity for 6-8 weeks which is what I would consider laps or swimming to much. But lazy lounging in the pool is ok after the incision heals. I have a large vertical incision about 15 inches long. 38mm roughly.
