Most of the success stories I've read seem to say that the 'better' feelings happen from 4-6 weeks into the treatment.
I've now had 10 days on 10mg and 10 days on 20mg. I am still waking up around 3 or 4 AM and lucky if I doze. My family say they have noticed me a bit brighter but I still have really down periods.
My question is are people generally timing their experiences from when they started their final dose or from when they started the drug completely.
Perhaps I am just being impatient but I am so fed up with the sleep issues and the feeling down moments.
im on day 15 of 10mg a day I have just noticed a few good days I still have side effects like increased anxiety in mornings and disturbed sleep I will sleep 3 hours straight then wake up every hour til I can no longer be bothered to try and get back to sleep . Hope it settles down soon. But I count from the first tablet although you have had a dose increase and I have read on here of people having had dose increases and it effectively is like starting again .
I think youll see a consistent change within the next couple of weeks just stick with it
I would say as you were only on 10mg for 10 days I would say probably from your increase to 20mg however it can kick in at any time for some folk, so no set rules at all. the only thing is you must be strong as there is light at the end of the tunnel. pleae join our forum on 'Anyone NOT had any side effects on Citalopram? as there are folk on there that are just starting like yourself, also folk half way and folk happy again as cit is working, we all have the same target to become ourselves and be "normal" again. you sleep will kick in too, as lack of sleep makes anxiety worse which is probably why you will be feeling so bad just now, but rest assured we have all felt this. Cit gave me my life back so please continue and we are here to support you when ever you need it.
