I went to the ER this past Wed and was diagnosed with Diverticulitis. Given Augmentin and pain killers. Pain is not as bad but still present. I guess my concern is I haven't had a bowel movement since Tuesday morning. I'm barely eating because the pain gets worse. I guess I just want to know how soon should I have a bowel movement and is this normal?
Constipation is not a good thing when you have diverticulitis. In fact constipation is said to cause attacks of diverticulitis. Can you take something to help you have a B.M.? there are several meds over the counter-- I would look into that. Good luck
