How long do you think i should wait before using my upright hoover, I have my umbilical repair (open surgery) 4.5 weeks ago, its so hard getting my 20 year old son with learning needs to hover for me, his very much learnt from his father my ex that its womans work, although he understands i cant do much, his happy to carry heavy stuff for me but struggles with the hoover, my other son is 8 .. and thats even harder
Oh the joy of it all. Mine was all laparoscopic, so I'm sure the recovery time is very different. Were you told to wear an abdomen binder? I am a solid believer in it. It has given me so much support and really helped protect me from hurting myself. Initially it hurt like all heck, but that was a day or two after the surgery, while I was still in the hospital. Did you doctor give you any idea as to how long to wait for things like that? I just know that any ab exercises are not allowed for a year. But as I was riding my scooter (small, only 115cc), even the act of lifting my feet off the ground was initially troublesome.
no i have not been given a binder ,, but dr said not to lift anymore than half a bowl of washing up water, for 3 months
I wonder if your doctor would recommend it for you. Yes, I was told no more than 5 kgs.
i have no idea when i should be doing stuff like hovering or moping floors ,, totally wiped out today as done way too much bending down and driving, but trying to get kids to help is hard work esp as eldest who is 20 has learning needs, if i sit and rest he thinks nothing needs doing ,
You need to go slowly. And be sensetive to your body. If you do too much one day, take more rest the next day. This is what I've been doing. From my understanding, anything that is going to strain your stomach muscles needs to be limited. But (there's always a but), I've also found that slowly pushing in some areas is helping strengthen, in a very natural way.
