When will I feel better?

How long does it take to start feeling happy and normal again?

It a difficult question to answer, because I do believe we all have asked ourselves how long will it be!!  We can of course be better than we where when we hit rock bottom, but how long to get normal again I dont know plus I'm not a brilliant person to ask.

But if you have only just recently suffered from depression/anxiety and it was

for a reason that you got down, they say they can get you back within 3 - 6 months but it really depends what is going on in you life, and how you respond to medication and prehaps thearpy if you get any....

I really hope its quick for you just try and keep your head above water and try and carry on normal ie go to work etc.... and then you should be able to get yourself better as well.  Good Luck Daniel

Going to therapy only I barely leave my house but try to have good days. Had anxiety for two months do I'm hoping it won't take too long.

Sorry to hear that, I dont leave my house very often mainly with hubby or a friend who I know I can rely on.  Its hopless when you cant go out because of what?  I dont know why I cant walk up the road and go out like normal people do, but when I do try I just get so anxious etc I just cant get out, on occassions when I do walk up our little road, I am going to church and I know my friends will be there, that is the difference of going to a place on my own where I dont know anyone I just cant do it,

So sorry Daniel I cant offer you any advise only to say that if you have only been suffering for 2 months hopefully your gp will help you more now than when I first suffered from depression/anixety which is over 30 years ago, I wont go into detail, but my life havent been very kind to me over these years which makes it worse, but I do have a lovely hubby of 12 years and we are coping with it all just!

It is not an "illness" it is a faulty coping mechanism. When you realize it is basically your negative thoughts and negative way of self talking and you can choose to learn to think differently, it is a journey but possible, you will start to feel better. At least thats what all the articles say. I have found it waxes and wanes. Meditation is a very help ful way to help yourself. Im learning about theta waves right now but they give me a bit of a headache but if you can listen to them and many relaxing apps use headphones with them it suppose to aid in retraining your brain.
