Will I need to have a review for my repeat prescription of anti depressants? If so how often are they? And what happens in a review? Thabks
Hi Kerry, each doctor is different, but ideally he/she would've told you this when you left your last appointment! My last repeat had "Make an appointment with your doctor for a review" printed on it, but up until then, I'd just been collecting from the pharmacy. It's seems it's up to them how often you get called in for a review, depending on how you seemed last time you saw them. I wasn't very happy at my last one, maybe that's why she only gave me three months and got me back for one...
You can call your doctor to check though, the reception staff know what's going on with your repeat prescription x
In my experience you GP will issue you with your new prescription on request and any review is normally carried out by your psychiatrist every three to six months.
Hi Kerry,
I believe u go every couple weeks to see how u r doing on them. Once you've been on the same ones it should get more spaced out. But if u are having problems it could be every week or every 2weeks. At least that's my experience. It just depends on how u r doing. The doc should've told u when to schedule ur next appt. If not call the office n talk to the docs nurse and they can check. If u feel it needs to be sooner, make it sooner. Its in ur hands. Sometimes u might have to take control and tell them what's best for you. Be careful, pay attention to ur body and moods. Meds can become a scary thing if you get bad side effects. So just keep an eye out. Hope this helps. Good luck!!
