I have been on a 100 Mg sertraline since the 15th of September ? When will I notice the full effect? After three good days, I again had a bad day yesterday, which now only makes me wanna cry. Is it normal for all those ups and downs?
Hi Ren, this med is a slow acting drug which means it can take up to 8 weeks . Some people it can take less time some people more. I was told that you might have higher anxiety levels or other side affects (which i did) . Yes you will have good days and bad days. But it will level out. Hang in there it does get better.
Thanks for your reply. I started on 25mg and slowly worked my way up to 100mg. So it means that on this dose it will also take more time again to notice the effect?
Can the flu/feeling ill also influence the effectiveness of sertraline?
Sorry Ren didn't get back to you sooner, had a few family things going on. But is ur question, will it take longer for you to feel better since upping ur dose. I would say no. It might take up to six or eight weeks to feel better. As to the flu , i wouldn't think that it slow your progress down unless you vomit up your med. But speak to your doctor if you dont feel like its working for you. Going up to 100 might give u some side affects but they wont be as bad as when you first started on them. Hang in there , your life will improve.
