Is therir a doctor in the Oakland, or SF bay area who does the PAE procedure ?
It is not done by Doctors but by interventional radiologists.
If you Google "PAE prostate in San Francisco" you will find that a symposium on the subject was held there earlier this year and you may being more local to the area (I am in England as you have landed in a UK based Forum) find a hospital that is doing it.
Kai,
Kaiser Oakland: Dr. Douglas Hadley.
Stanford Hospital: Dr. Harsharan Gill
Both, interventional radiologists.
Best to you,
Tom
I am new to this site and am trying to find out where successful PAE procedures are performed?
Is there any insurance coverage for the procedure? If not, how much is patient costs?
I heard that there is a medical trial going on now but you have to be willing to accept either of 3 different procedures.to participate.
What doctor seems to be having the most success? How to contact him to see if I can qualify for the procedure. Does anyone have a timeline from applying, approval and the wait time for the procedure. I would like to get this done as quickly as possible with a successful doctor.
I am in Michigan, but flying to any place is not out of question, because my wife works for the airline.
This appears to be the only thing out there that does not have complications. Will actually reduce the size of the prostate, not just ease the BPH issues temporarily.
Thanks Mike
