Whey Protein

What does everybody think about using Whey Protein as a supplement after surgery?

Is it worth buying or should I just concentrate on eating things like meats, yougurt, cottage cheese, pnb, eggs etc to get the added protein?

Personally, I'm v sceptical about these supplements. There was a v informative tv documentary last week, which analysed lots of them and proved that virtually all contained no effective ingredient.

Plus, they're expensive.

I'd stick to a healthy, varied diet.

Hi just to say that I am using Whey Lean Protein at the moment but I am much further down the line at 1year post RTHR...as I understand it the supplement allows you to take in protein when unable to have a meal or miss a meal, you can also add some liquidised fruit of your choice....I believe the protein is honestly in the product that said it is a supplement to use at your convenience...I think it worth a try, also there is plenty of information on the Internet for you to be able to make your mind up Yes/No...

wishing you the very best and a speedy recovery..

I used it because I live alone and had to rely on ready meals . Don't think it did any harm for a few months . Had one a day as well as meals .

Protein is a good thing to add in your diet. You can make a smoothie with the today and add ice and scoop of the way protein.it comes in strawberries, chocolate, vanilla.it makes a goo healthy smoothie.

No protein supplement at all I would say. Protein is way overrated now a days. Its all about money (meat/dairy industrie, sport snutrition etc). The result: we all get sicker by the day. Just eat whole foods and you will get all you need (see Vegan Body Builders). Don't let them rip you off by selling you supplements and making you sick. And: "Milk is for calves", think about it.
