Happy New Year everyone.
Hopefully someone will have some insight on this as doctors either don’t care or don’t know. Send me home with pills and say it’s nothing.
I have had tonsil stones as long as I can remember. I am 51 and going through menopause so they “say” one of the symptoms of that is everything dry’s out. That coupled with the fact we live in a higher elevation and burn with wood so that also dry’s us out. What is puzzling to me is we have been here 4 years and I have never had THIS issue (but I was not menopausal either.
I had a bad bout with tonsil stones. I must have dug about 10 of those buggers out of my right tonsil. I also had ear pain, shooting jaw pain (this was random). I was on antibiotics for 10 days and not sure if it did any good or not.
Now I have slightly clogged sinuses (slightly) but what is worrisome is I have like 2 pimple looking things (about 2 mm) right next to each tonsil. They don’t necessarily hurt but it’s bothering me wondering what it is.
The ear, neck and kind of weird sensation on my tongue is less but still pops up occasionally. Now I am nauseated and had head-aches that are few and far between but right above my eye brows when they hit.
Anybody else.
The one (I will call it a pimple) seems to have popped leaving a red patch that seems to be getting lighter but this is driving me crazy and Dr. Google is not much help other than creating anxiety.
Hi Leisa,
I’m obviously no doctor, but it’s really hard to say, without seeing them, however, if your doctor has seen them and isn’t too concerned I wouldn’t worry. I’ve gone through quite a simular situation myself over the last few months. After a bout of acid reflux, I developed a lump on the very back left hand side of my tongue. Like u, it wasn’t painful, but very irritating and felt like I had something stuck at the back of my throat. After GP visits, 2 ENT visits, an MRI, I’ve just been told that it’s an inflamed taste bud, due to acid reaching the back of the throat. Like u, I had mild neck, jaw and ear ache along with it, which made me worry more. This is on going now for the last 5 months. In the last few weeks I’ve developed a sore mouth, meaning, my tongue aches, is bright red, my gums are now inflamed, and like u, I’m at the end of my tether… I would just like answers. However, I’ve had a really stressful year, and there’s a part of me that thinks this all might be down to stress and anxiety. I’ve worried a lot about my health in the last year and am beginning to think I’m conjuring these symtoms… food for thought… I hope u get answers soon x happy New year
i have to 2nd the anxiety thing. so ive been having a sore neck on the left side for a few months now…last week i looked at back of my throat and saw what i think is a blister!! having health anxiety this scared me and i thought of the worse! but with this i also have a few sore in my mouth (that aint actually causing any pain) only thing that aches is mu neck and also what seems like the very back of my tongue…almost like its swollen or there is a sore on there. anyway i visited my GP, she looked at my throat and said its slightly infected (maybe due to a sore throat i had few weeks ago) she said it was maybe laryngitis which would make sense as i did lose my voice for couple of days. but thing is this feeling of fullness is my throat, like paper is stuck there has been there before i even had a sore throat. ive been given antibiotics for ten days but now ive got red paches on inside of my cheek and one on my pallet!? with this the left lymph node under my jaw is slightly swollen but palpable. ive even had a sensation on numbness on my right cheek jaw! im due to see my dentist but i keep thinking the worse. im too being tested for acid reflux and i have post nasal drip. its really getting me down.
Hi guys,
Just wondering if anyone has any updates… my tongue bump began to disappear just before Xmas, I was so relieved. However, in the last week the little bugger is back with a vengeance. I was at the dentist in January and explained what’s been going on, anyway she’s ordered bloods as thinks I might be on the cusp of some sort of auto immune disorder (I hope not). Still have to get the bloods done, so will keep u posted…
