I've had protected sex but received unprotected oral. No pain or itching, slight tingling but I kind of think its anxiety induced/in my head.
Could this be herpes or a fungal infection from receiving oral?
Considering trying clotrimizole to see if it clears fungal infection, would this have negative effects if it is herpes?

I dont think this is herpes, at all. im thinking its more of a fungal issue. could be balantis. but herpes? nah. everything is going to be fine. stay away from soap when washing the penis head.
As Dee is getting at, I think this is most likely what the skin of the head of your penis and your foreskin is being regularly exposed to. Although, you do not say how recent the sexual encounter was?
You need to think of things like condoms, any form of Lube at all, some soaps themselves can give a severe reaction. Even things like baby oil, regular skin creams and lotions can eventually lead to an accumulative effect of all the things your penis head and foreskin have been in contact with and result in something like this.
So, think of all the things you put on your penis on a regular basis - what could have ‘tipped the balance’ is when you recently used a condom.
For anyone experiencing these kinds of symptoms that just don’t seem to be clearing up the best approach to take is to exclude everything that your penis comes into contact with - including soaps and shower gels and any bodily cleansers. If these kinds of symptoms are present after 2 or 3 months of excluding all contact with the things I have suggested then you may need to seek advice from a Dermatologist.
For you Dave, if you think this is most likely to be related to be related to the unprotected oral, go and get it checked out …
