I went up to the Raincliffe woods last night in Scarborough with my friends, we made a fire and stuff, after been there for around half an hour to an hour, I noticed these strange white bubbles all over my arms hands and shoulders. I've no Idea how I got them as the only things I'd really touched was an axe and some already dead wood. It had pretty much gone in two hours and when I got up this morning all that is left is little red dots or spots. Does anyone have any idea what this could of been. As Far as I'm aware I have no allergy's.
Idl that’s a good one. The only thing I can think of is an allergic reaction to something. Did you go in the water. Get your arm wet? Was your arm touching something or resting against something?
No I didn't get wet I think the only things I touched were wood really
I’m wondering if there were parasites on the wood. You can get blisters from those suckers. Not harmful. Just annoying.
I'm starting to think they might be bites as that's exactly what they look like now
Blaaaaah. Hate when stuff like that happens. It’s like seriously?! So now they are red dots like bug bites? Way better than blisters
Giant Hogweed is my first thought. There seems to be an invasion of this throughout UK woody areas and gives anyone who touches it,or is even near it, a blistery rash. Can you remember a very tall woody plant with white flowers? If you see it,please keep away from it. Most councils in UK are trying to get rid of it.
If it was Hogweed you have been lucky not to have been badly affected.
My friend mentioned hogweed but we didn't see any around camp
Yeah basically and still there a little white in the middle of the spot now though
