Who has not had side effects or an least very minimal

Just wanted to know if anyone has either not had side effects or had very minimal on cit. I Have only so far heard minimum being it was after 3 order 4 week's and then some 8 weeks? And constant ups and downs. I didn't have this problem with fluoxetine but just couldn't sleep. It's like no one actually settles on it or is eventually ok.

So I look forward to hearing if anyone managed ok from the get go or shorty after.

I have only been on 20 for 5 day's and I have to wait I know. But the stories are freaking me out.

Very little. I found that reviews that were poor for citalopram were because of the side effects not because of their effectiveness.

Have a look here - https://patient.info/forums/discuss/anyone-not-had-any-side-effects-on-citalopram--35665

Yip, after reading the link sent by holly_T I am starting to think I have made a mistake (nothing to do with you, Holly. lol. I read some of that post earlier but only a couple). My questions to my doctor (fill in guy) "side effects?" he replies ""nah". I asked "is insomnia common with these" and he replied "nah" Feeling very annoyed with myself. No not only do I have to battle with my normal anxiety and depression, but it is now heightened. And to add, feeling the most fatigued ever, with no appetite that is causing me to drop weight and is noticeable. Although over the last couple of weeks I had slowed down my eating due to depression, but now, I am forcing myself to eat, literally. LIke, I am not even hungry anymore. Oh gees. I guess I will have to give it another week. Possibly some of this is due to the fact I am on holiday and dont have to get up. Whereas if I know I have to go to work, my brain kicks in to work mode. Will see. But wow. Still mind blowing how a pill can take its toll like this and make someone feel so bad before it apparently gets better.

Well, will stay posted because in a weeks time I might be one of those people who are on here going, wow, stick with it, it works. Thanks for your replies.

Best of luck Caro - it's not for everyone. Whatever you decide will be the right decision for you x

I'm a new user to a/d's and was prescribed Cit. in March. I can speak only for myself, nausea and loss of appetite was minimal at the beginning. Anxiety set in and that plus insomnia were the worst for me running 7 weeks and beyond. I stuck it out on 20 for 4 months and went to 30 and it has been quite amazing. I did gain some weight but try to get out walking and hopefully over time, I will try and lose it. I wish people would know that there are side effects and if you listen to the great advice given here, it is best to try and stay with it. It's not a free lunch but in the end well worth it. I never thought I could feel like my self again but it did happen. Try not to give up even though you may feel like it.  Also, give it it's best shot and stay off the booze and try and get good sleep habits or catch up during the day with naps. I was given sleeping pills but only used them sparotically.  Wishing you all the best.

Good to hear johnmac. Nope, no worries about booze here. Not a drinker at all. Thanks and good to hear your story.
