I was walking to work today when I suddenly couldnt remember if I had taken my 20mg flu. Turned round went home and took one!
Apart from the total forgetfulness on my part has anyone taken 40mg by mistake, and if so was there any reaction? Wish they put the days on the strips like they do on other medications!
Many months ago i couldn't remember whether i had taken my flu one morning, i was scared stiff what would happen if i didn't take one and scared stiff of what would happen if i took two. I ended up counting the days, checking in my diary, checking the packets etc. In the end after about 1/2 hour panic i realised i had taken it. I too wish that the days were on the packets, i remember that at the time.
I'd say either way, missing one or taking an extra one won't make any different to you for one day.
I've done that and i'm on liquid. As Sam says, one day wouldn't make a difference. I forgot to take mine and only remembered when i was halfway to work. Couldn't be bothered to go back and took it in the evening instead.
I was waiting for some terrible side effects to kick in but nothing happened.
The forgetfulness is getting annoying now. At work this morning i was suffering from 'icon blindness' on the computer. I just could not see the ones i wanted and had to ask my boss - rather embarrassing.
assuming you've been on fluoxetene for several months there should be no problems with missing a dose as fluoxetine has a VERY long half life (it takes a very long time to come out of the'system' on the other hand if you take 40 mg instead of your normal 20 mg there should be no problems either
i know what you mean about the daily markings being absent on the strips of tabs tho, what i do is use a felt tip indelible marker and put the day and date i took the first tab on the tab strip, bingo, job done :ok:
keep up the good work peeps, i hope you're all feeling good :rainbow:
Didnt seem to react having 2. After all the comments on upping to 40mg am seriously thinking of asking GP. Am halfway through week 5 and to be honest feel worse than I did at the beginning.
My thoughts have darkened, the zopiclone dont seem to work and I have almost stopped eating. Shamefully i hit the bottle last night, which is how I used to deal with the world.
Ever since I started on flu life seems to just get more stressful, no money, needing to find a place to live, moving away from family. The whole day is spent completely on edge, is there really light at the end of the tunnel in 6-8 weeks??????
im afraid its early days for you my friend, i know its not much help but with anti-depressants it can be quite common to feel worse before feeling any better :? however you should start to feel the benefits any time now (thats if fluoxetine can benefit you) by week 6 to 8 you should definitely see some improvement, if not it may definitely be worth your doc trying you on something else, make an appointment to see your doc now, see what he/she has to say, that's what the doc is for
i wont bang on, but booze WILL only complicate matters and make things WORSE, it's a FACT alcohol IS a DEPRESSANT in itself in any quantity of more than a couple of pints, trust me, i've been there, done that etc etc
you have to slow down StuR, give your body time to start healing, be selfish, yes SELFISH, look after number one and dont make any major decisions whilst you are so ill, stuff can wait i assure you, only do what you can/need to do, dont feel guilty about doing bugger all, you WILL get better, but only if you 'listen' to what your body is telling you
the longer you fight this illness, the longer it will take you to get well again, to an extent you need to 'go with it', trust your instincts :ok: if in doubt, DONT do it !!!!!!!!
enough of my ramblings, take care and good luck StuR,
I totally agree with what Psychochief says. I moved up to 40mg after 9 weeks as i felt 20mg was no longer working although it had it fits and starts from about week 6.
My depression is also caused by on going problems but as PC says you can't fight this damn illness.
I no longer have highs and lows - my moods are in the middle ground but i think you have to give it a bit longer before upping the dosage mate.
